A total of 1,352 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Woodlands and Tampines with waiting times of about three years will be available prior to the end of June.
The most shortest wait time in the upcoming sales exercise will be for a 791-unit development in Woodlands. Marsiling Peak I.
The first batch of apartments that have a shorter waiting time will be available in 2024 which is less than three years.
The Tampines GreenTopaz project, which is located near the Tampines West MRT Station, will offer 561 flats. There is a longer waiting period of three years and one month.
In 2024, more than 2,800 apartments with shorter waiting periods will be available. This includes more than 22,000 units sold during the sales exercise in October.
In 2023, the government was promised that it would release 2,000 to 3,000 flats every year with shorter waiting periods by 2025.
HDB in close collaboration with our construction partners and other agencies, is now in a position to complete this project a year earlier than scheduled, in 2024.
The company will continue to calibrate its building program in the future, so that apartments with shorter waiting times for example, those that last less than four years, make more of the new inventory.
Marsiling Peak I, comprising two-room flexi, three- four-, five- and four-room flats, is planned to be constructed along Admiralty Road and Marsiling Lane. The three blocks span between 31 and 35 stories.
The development is near Woodlands Checkpoint, with Woodlands and Woodlands North MRT stations around 2km from each other.
Flats within the complex have views of the Strait of Johor and nearby parks. They also have a view of the central courtyard of the structure.
The block’s style will incorporate brown accents and shades that reflect the rich history of Woodlands town, named for its heavily wooded appearance when viewed from Johor, the report added.
A food centre and market is located in the neighbourhood central area. Other nearby amenities include Causeway Point Shopping Complex, Woodlands Civic Centre, and Admiralty Park.
The project will include 791 flats in addition to the 1,590 units to be built in Woodlands before June. They will also comprise 3rd generation units.
Tampines GreenTopaz, which is bounded by Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Street 92 It comprises four blocks with 13 or 12 storeys, with five61 two-room flexi with five- and four-room apartments. One block will include 24 rental apartments.
The development will have shops and restaurants, a supermarket store, as well as a preschool. The development is located near the Tampines Park Connector which leads to Bedok Reservoir Park.
The sale in June will comprise more than 6,800 new flats in addition to projects in Jurong East and Queenstown Kallang/Whampoa, and Yishun. HDB hasn’t announced the date of launch.
The initial BTO project to be launched in Chencharu will comprise 1,270 units in Yishun which is a rapidly growing housing area.
In all, about 19,600 BTO flats will be sold in the three sales events in 2024.
The sales launch for the year 2024 will be held in October, and the new classification of flats into Prime, Plus or Standard categories will be in effect.
BTO units located in more desirable areas will be classified into the categories of Prime or Plus. These come with stricter conditions for resale, such as a minimum occupation period of 10 years (MOP) and a clawback subsidy.
Standard flats, which are expected to comprise the majority of public housing, will come with the MOP for five years and no limitations on the pool of resale buyers.
